Welcome Tim Kinney, Athletic Trainer

Tim Kinney is a certified athletic trainer with more than 18 years of experience in athletic training, working in several high schools in the midlands area. He will be the Head Athletic Trainer at White Knoll High School, bringing a strong background in athlete care, injury prevention, emergency preparedness, and sports medicine leadership. Prior to this role, he served as Director of Health, Safety, and Wellness for the South Carolina High School League, where he led statewide initiatives focused on student-athlete safety, mental health, and policy development for more than 200 high schools across South Carolina. Before working at the League office, he was at Irmo High School for 10 years as the head athletic trainer and assistant athletic director.

Coach Kinney earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership from Columbia College, a Master of Science in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Liberty University. Outside of athletics, he enjoys spending time with his two teenage sons, supporting them in their soccer activities and musical endeavors.
